Flax Bourton – Thursday 8th February

An encouragingly large group of 11 ramblers ably led by Liz Hall completed a 6 mile round of the hills above Flax Bourton including the intriguing Barrow Church and Barrow Court. Joined by new member Phil Quartley and trial member Keith Yeandel the team climbed up the hill to the court, stopping for coffee in the churchyard before dropping down to Barrow Gurney and then continuing round via the Jubilee Stone and back down Bourton Combe to the cars. A good day with outstanding views and great company.  Also shown : the Jubilee Stone and the group before and after negotiating a rather large footpath obstruction..but safely negotiated!

Ashton Court and Failand– Sunday 18th February 2018

Liz Hall inserted this walk in the programme and assisted by Sue O’Hara and Sara Willmott walked it out several times to avoid the worst of the MUD.

Thursday 22nd February – short

Davina took us on a delightful short walk around Long Ashton, with lunch at Gatcombe Farm where the ten walkers were joined by two non-walkers. It was pleasantly sunny and the biting wind and clouds stayed away until after lunch!

You see us here relaxing over coffee after a steady climb.
